Home-Toter® Tamper-Proof Bag

Designed to meet the needs of grocers and food service providers who need tamper-proof take-out packaging to assure food safety and reduce shrink, Package Containers, Inc., announces a new line of HTTP Home-Toter® Tamper-Proof bags made of recycled Kraft paper, according to Robert Degnan, President and CEO.

The bag line is an extension of the original Home-Toter® single-handle paper bag line manufactured and sold by Package Containers, Inc. for over 60 years, according to Degnan. The enhanced bag design features the addition of a fold-over top that can be sealed at the counter with the store pricing label, enabling the customer to continue shopping without concern of contamination. As well, the design helps deter shrink by effectively sealing the bag at the point of sale.

The initial HTTP line includes the durable PCI Quad-Fold™ single handle. Both bag and handle are offered in recycled paper in the following PCI sizes:

• #5 Cadet (6" x 4" x 8")
• #10 Jumbo (7 ¾" x 4 ¾" x 10")
• #15 King (8 ¾" x 5 ½" x 11 ¼")
• #16 Senior (10 ½" x 6 7/8" x 12")

Degnan adds the bags can be purchased blank or be imprinted on up to four sides plus the handle, and in up to four colors, depending on size. In keeping with PCI sustainability practices, all inks and glues used by the company are water-based and from local suppliers. Degnan notes PCI has in-house graphic design capabilities to help customers maximize their store or private label branding strategies, or can work with outside designers or promotional agencies.
